To All Members of Our University of Miami Community,
 
Recent media reports suggest that the federal government is considering policy changes that would narrow the legal definition of gender. These changes would have negative impacts on transgender and gender non-binary members of our community.
 
At the University of Miami, we embrace the multiple benefits of diversity and inclusion. Our University is steadfast in its support of transgender and gender non-binary students, faculty, and staff, and we remain committed to fostering a culture of belonging where every person feels valued and adds value.
 
To those on our campuses who may feel vulnerable as a result of the possible federal policy changes, I encourage you to learn about the many resources available at the University.
