Dear Colleagues,
I am pleased to share that the Office of Planning, Institutional Research, and Assessment (PIRA) has been restructured and is now the Office of Institutional Research and Strategic Analytics (IRSA). IRSA’s mission has been strategically aligned to help the University of Miami achieve its greatest aspirations, as detailed in the Roadmap to Our New Century, and its role has been expanded to better serve the increasing needs for meaningful and accessible data, strategic reports, and analytics for the University community.
Moving forward, IRSA will serve as the central source for student data and will remain at the forefront of all collaborations and requests surrounding University data. The office will provide official University statistics and strategic analytics capabilities; internal and external reporting; and support decision-making, policy development, and improvements.
Additionally, as part of this reorganization, improvements have been made to the way in which requests are submitted, received, tracked, and completed. These improvements are designed to eliminate possible confusion and to foster a service-oriented data culture at the University. The team will continue to operate with objectivity, consistency, transparency, accuracy, and integrity, and will provide a holistic view of data that is pertinent to the University. Requests for data may be submitted through the
IRSA data request form. All other inquiries can be sent to umdata@miami.edu. I encourage you to share this announcement with your leadership team and other staff.
I look forward to working together to deepen our commitment to the foundational principles of diversity, sustainability, and excellence in teaching as we embrace the transformative initiatives outlined in the Roadmap to Our New Century. |
