Dear Colleagues:
Bill Green has informed me of his intention to retire as senior vice provost and dean of undergraduate education on May 31. He will continue as Professor of Religious Studies and the Fain Family Endowed Chair of Judaic Studies and will assist me as a senior advisor on select academic and educational projects.
Bill’s 14 years of administrative service have been marked by advancements in academic curricular and co-curricular initiatives. He has collaborated with colleagues across the University to conceive, develop, implement, and enable offices and programs in key areas of undergraduate education, such as the Office of Academic Enhancement, The Launch Pad, the Office of Civic and Community Engagement, the Foote Fellows Honors Program and its signature “Books That Matter” course, Study Abroad’s “On-Location” programs, “First-Year U,” the Office of Undergraduate Research, the Toppel Career Center, and two Quality Enhancement Plans. He also served as executive officer of the Reinvention Center (now the Reinvention Collaborative), a “national
consortium of research universities dedicated to strengthening undergraduate education.” Bill’s contributions will continue to encourage and support excellence and innovation in teaching and learning at the University of Miami.
Please join me in thanking Bill for his many years of service to academic administrative leadership.
Warm regards,
|
