Dear Colleagues,
Senior leadership at the University continues to analyze the financial impact of COVID-19 on University operations and develop an ongoing mitigation strategy that will keep our institution strong into the future. As outlined in President Frenk’s April 28 letter, a number of actions have already been taken.
We know you are receiving a lot of questions from your team members on what is coming next. We thank you for your patience and for keeping this information in confidence. On Friday, we will finalize the next phase of our mitigation strategy with the executive committee of the Board of Trustees and President Frenk will follow up with a message to the University community Friday afternoon. These are difficult times and these next steps—including furloughs, layoffs, streamlined operations, and other actions—will be difficult to absorb but are necessary as we move forward. |
