***STORM ADVISORY***
POTENTIAL TROPICAL CYCLONE NINE – ADVISORY 1
Wednesday, July 29, 2020; 11 a.m.

The University of Miami is closely monitoring Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine, which currently is located approximately 1,250 miles southeast of Miami-Dade County. Keeping the University community safe and informed are top priorities as we continue to track the progress of this storm.

At this time, there are no storm-related changes to University operations.

The official forecast keeps Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine as a tropical storm as it approaches South Florida. However, long range forecasts have a wide margin for error, and it is still too early to tell if the storm will directly impact South Florida. If Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine continues toward South Florida, the earliest anticipated impacts to the area would begin late Friday into early Saturday.

The University will continue to actively monitor and assess the situation. This will be the only advisory issued unless it is determined likely that the storm will directly impact South Florida.
