|Dear University of Miami Community:|
We are ready and eager to welcome you back to campus for the fall semester. In preparation for your return, we have put into place comprehensive policies and procedures that will help prevent the spread of COVID-19. All we need now is your commitment and responsibility to the health and well-being of your fellow ’Canes.
To help us succeed, we have launched the We Are One U: COVID-19 Safety Principles training module. This informative tutorial provides an overview of the shared values, behaviors, and procedures each of us will be expected to uphold, affirm, and follow on campus.
Everyone is required to complete the We Are One U: COVID-19 Safety Principles by August 10 and before returning to campus. The module is accessible using your University of Miami credentials at weareoneu.miami.edu.
We are extremely grateful to our team of diverse experts at the University and UHealth who, using evidence-based public health guidelines, worked in close consultation with faculty and staff across all campuses to create this robust tool. Building on the foundation of the Four Pillars, which include testing, tracing, and tracking; cleaning and disinfecting; protecting personal space; and vaccinating, you will be asked to take a pledge to uphold these principles and procedures to the best of your ability at the University of Miami and in our community.
I understand that this semester will be a very different experience for all of us. I, myself, will be teaching a course in person and am deeply aware of the complexities my students and I will be facing.
The past four months have demonstrated our capacity to adapt and respond in the face of extraordinary circumstances. Much is expected of us, and the consequences of our actions are profound.
Today we are a community united for a common good.
We Are One U.
