Dear Colleagues,
The 2021 TeamUM United Way Miami campaign is now underway. Thanks to the generosity from our University of Miami community, the United Way Miami supports more than 147,000 individuals and families each year. Your contributions can help families navigate issues that now have been exacerbated by the pandemic, such as education, financial stability, and health. Fifty-four percent of families in Miami-Dade County are either in poverty or one emergency away from poverty, and this year your help is needed more than ever.
It takes dedication, perseverance, and teamwork to make the University of Miami thrive. And when it comes to tackling the difficult issues in our community, it takes that same level of commitment. Through our partnership with United Way Miami, we work together to address challenges in our community and support those in need. Your participation in this year’s campaign has a direct impact on your neighbors and those who are in need of support or assistance.
Social change is made in Miami through the United Way. During the 2020 campaign, TeamUM raised more than $700,000, which was vital in helping us support our community.
