Dear Colleagues,
I am very pleased to announce that following a comprehensive national search, Brad Rohrer has been appointed vice president and chief information officer (CIO) for the University of Miami.
Brad, who I know is familiar to many of you, has been a valued member of our University community for nearly 25 years. He has served as a key leader in our IT organization, and his career journey at the U is reflective of a commitment to innovation and collaboration, and of a passion for fostering a customer-focused culture of excellence. His journey also is emblematic of our capacity to provide meaningful professional and personal growth opportunities at the U.
A proud ’Cane, Brad earned his master’s degree from the University and launched his career here as a network specialist in 1997. He advanced through the leadership ranks, serving as IT manager, IT director, and executive director of medical information technology before being named the University’s associate vice president and deputy CIO in 2011. He has also admirably serviced as interim CIO twice during his career at the U.
Brad has earned the deep respect of colleagues and has been described as an eager collaborator. He has extensive technology and cybersecurity expertise, strong professional relationships across the University and the UHealth system, deep institutional knowledge, and great affection for the U.
As vice president and CIO, he will lead a UMIT team of nearly 300 professionals committed to implementing new and innovative technologies and delivering customer-focused solutions.
Please join me in congratulating Brad on this well-earned promotion and thanking him for his continued dedication and service to the U.
Sincerely,
|
