Dear ’Canes Colleagues,
Each year we make a transformational impact for the betterment of our community, as Team Hurricanes, at the Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC) event.
The DCC is so very special to me—I have chaired the event two times and continue volunteer service on the DCC Board. I want to assure you that every dollar that is raised from the event goes to cancer research at our own Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
I write to you to ask that you please join me for DCC XIII on February 25, 2023, as we come together for a day of celebration, camaraderie, and resilience. If you haven’t participated in the past, just speak to me or someone who has experienced the thrill of the event. It is fun, meaningful, and thousands of ’Canes participate each year.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of so many who battle cancer every day. Through our efforts, the Sylvester team conducts research and achieves breakthroughs that improve the lives of cancer patients and their families.
One Team. One Fight. The Dolphins Challenge Cancer enters its 13th year, having raised more than $8.4 million in 2022 and more than $53.9 million since its inception. We hope to set a record this year by raising more than $10 million.
As I mentioned, 100 percent of the participant-raised funds from the DCC goes to Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only NCI-designated cancer center in South Florida—allowing for the creation of new breakthrough scientific discoveries and cutting-edge cancer treatments while also creating impactful community outreach programs.
Step Up. Team Up. Challenge Cancer. You can participate in DCC XIII in person at Hard Rock Stadium on February 25, 2023, or virtually from the comfort of your home. Either way, you will receive some great benefits, like:
