Dear University of Miami Faculty,
We are pleased to announce that academic faculty profiles on the University’s People site (people.miami.edu) have been upgraded. Faculty profiles are now automatically populated with University contact information, grants, and publication data exported from various sources across the enterprise.
We encourage faculty members to create robust profiles to be displayed on the People site. A robust profile is created by entering additional information manually, which leads to more exposure, including better networking opportunities, new research collaborations, and ways to discover subject matter experts.
Next steps.
-
If you haven’t already, we encourage you to add details to your profile (e.g., teaching and research interests, certifications, honors, awards, and additional roles at the University, etc.) via Faculty Success. If you would like to delegate your Faculty Success profile editing, please submit a request for proxy access.
-
To add a profile photo and/or “about me” biography, contact your school/college’s People Profile Manager. These items will remain within the People site and will continue to be managed by your People Profile Manager.
-
Publications and grants are automatically populated via Scholarship@Miami, no manual entry will be required for these items. To modify or add publications/grants to your profile, please submit a Data Change Request form.
-
Contact your school/college’s Director of Communications or People Profile Manager to guide you in creating the most robust profile possible.
-
Register for an upcoming virtual training session to demo how the Faculty Success system works, how to add details to the faculty profiles, and how the information will be displayed on the new People site. We’ll also be able to answer any questions you may have.
