Dear students,
We hope you had an excellent first week of the fall semester. The start of the academic year brings a wealth of opportunities to explore and expand your educational and career goals and life experiences.
Your progress both in and out of the classroom is a top priority. The University of Miami offers students access to resources that help promote academic excellence, professional development, and personal growth.
We invite you to take advantage of all that a top research institution has to offer by exploring research, teaching, service, study abroad, and internship opportunities.
This is also the time to take control of your academic journey by reviewing important policies such as the Academic Bulletin, Honor Code, and
Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook. The
Camner Center for Academic Resources provides programming to support your learning and to help you manage your academic success.
Your academic success also depends on taking care of your emotional and physical well-being. When the load feels too heavy, make your health a priority. From Student Health Service to the Counseling Center to the
Dean of Students Office
, there is help when you need it. We encourage you to reach out to a trusted mentor or advisor and to build a network for ongoing support.
Please save the date for our first Pizza with Prado on Thursday, September 28, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Lakeside Patio—we will share more details in the next couple of weeks. And if you haven’t had a chance yet to join the popular Pancakes with Pat on the Coral Gables Campus, we hope to see you at the next one on September 6 at 8:30 p.m. on the intramural fields.
You are part of the Miami Hurricanes family, and we will be with you every step of the way. We hope your time here will enrich your lives through the lifelong connections you make with your peers and the U.
We wish you a safe and productive school year.
