Judy Webb-Hapgood Named Chief Supply Chain OfficerWe are pleased to announce that Judy Webb-Hapgood will be joining the University of Miami as chief supply chain officer, a position that oversees our $1.6 billion of procured spend across the University.
Foremost among Judy’s responsibilities will be refining and implementing best-in-class supply chain strategies and processes to ensure the highest quality and efficiency of distribution of supplies, services, and capital throughout the University.
Judy joins the University from Madison, Wisconsin, where she served as system vice president of supply chain and support services for the University of Wisconsin Health System (UW Health), an academic medical center comprised of seven hospitals and more than 80 outpatient clinics throughout southeast Wisconsin and Illinois.
There, she secured and finalized a one-of-a-kind operational agreement that created UW Health’s first central distribution support services center, an initiative that generated more than $1 million in revenue in its first six months through product standardization. Her transformational approach resulted in a complete realignment of supply chain operations that garnered a $50 million group purchasing organization volume increase. This enterprise supply chain approach led to UW Health being recognized in the top 20 of 570 hospitals in “Perfect Ordering Reporting.”
She spearheaded UW Health’s vendor diversity program in 2021 and watched it grow from less than 1% growth to 5% plus growth in its first year. Her leadership led to the negotiation and acquisition of the first ever proton therapy upright treatment chair in the United States for UW Health’s distinguished Carbone Cancer Center. In addition, she initiated and championed the first supply chain internship program between the University of Wisconsin School of Business, UW Health and Medline in 2022, building the future of supply chain processes.
Prior to joining UW Health, Judy was the associate vice president at the University of Oklahoma, where she led the procurement, contract, purchasing, warehouse, asset management, vendor management and property control teams for all the campuses, including the OU Health Sciences Center.
Judy is also a distinguished veteran and nurse, serving our country as an officer for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force. She served in a variety of positions, including hospital administrator, chief of staff and other special duty assignments.
