Thomas Insel, M.D., is a national leader in mental health research, policy, and technology. As a former director of the National Institute of Mental Health and a co-founder of several mental health startups, Dr. Insel has focused on the importance of innovation for transforming how we diagnose and treat mental disorders. He has served as an advisor to California Governor Gavin Newsom and currently serves on the New York State Commission on the Future of Healthcare. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and has received numerous national and international awards and honorary degrees in the United States and Europe. He is the author of the book “Healing: Our Path from Mental Illness to Mental Health.” |
