One hundred years ago today, the University of Miami was chartered as a private institution with a public mission—to transform lives through educational excellence, breakthrough research, and world-class patient care.
To mark the occasion, this evening’s Centennial Celebration will honor a century of excellence, inviting the entire University community to celebrate.
Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with the Canes Carnival, organized by our student-led programming board Hurricane Productions, featuring rides, games, and music on the Foote University Green.
The Centennial Block Party, with free food stations along the Miller Circle and around the Student Center Complex, begins at 6 p.m.
At 7 p.m., the Centennial Celebration Concert will begin on the Lakeside Patio. Organized by Frost School of Music Dean Shelton “Shelly” G. Berg, the concert will feature spectacular performances from generations of famous Frost School and University alumni, hosted by celebrity TV personality and Cane grad Jason Kennedy, interspersed with videos about the University’s history, and ’Canes Communities
celebrations across the country.
The celebration concludes with a dazzling fireworks show over Lake Osceola.
This will be a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of everything Miami Hurricanes. We hope to see you there wearing your orange and green! |
