Our Fellow Canes,
As we close another extraordinary year at the University of Miami, we are thankful and proud to work with and for each of you. Our University has never been better positioned to ascend, accelerating progress across our schools and colleges, our academic health system, and Miami Hurricanes athletics.
We offer a special word of gratitude to our colleagues across UHealth who provide outstanding patient care around the clock, including throughout the holidays. Their hard work is emblematic of who we are.
We also congratulate our newest graduates, more than a thousand of whom crossed the stage at commencement yesterday. Our parting words to the Class of 2025 apply to us all: Dream Big—Follow Through.
That is how Canes aim to serve and lead. Over the past century, we have laid the foundation for excellence. Today, our people bring the bold, innovative, high-energy culture that defines the U to classrooms and labs, hospital rooms and clinics, and to every field of competition.
This year our faculty and researchers pushed boundaries in medicine, science, the arts, and technology, applying discovery to real-world challenges, even amidst uncertainty. Our staff delivered for our community with quality and compassion, ensuring that patients heal, students thrive, and the mission of the U never wavers.
Our students dreamed big—launching startups, advancing research, mastering powerful new tools, and competing at the highest levels. Our shared legacy is how they will continue to follow through with focused determination. And our alumni, donors, and friends across the globe believed in the promise of the U, expanding our reach and deepening our impact.
As we look to a new year and cheer on our beloved Canes in the College Football Playoff, let us carry forward what makes the University of Miami truly exceptional: ambition paired with action, vision grounded in purpose, and the U’s swagger in service.
May this holiday season bring all of us renewed inspiration to Dream Big—Follow Through. Go Canes! |
